The Humanities Program at Carseldine campus is responsible for the administration of the Bachelor of Arts program in a number of double degrees. The Arts component of these double degrees offers students the opportunity to complete a multidisciplinary major in one of the following: International and Global Studies; Ethics and Human Rights; Society and Change; Community Studies and Australian Studies. Discipline majors in History, Geography, Languages, Sociology and Political Studies are also available. The Arts component of the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) double degree is different in structure to the Arts program in all the other double degrees in that students choose two teaching areas from: English; History; Geography; LOTE; Social Science; General Science; and Film and Media Studies. The Humanities Program will also administer the single Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Science degrees for continuing students in 2008. Associated postgraduate research and coursework programs and honours programs are also available. Research activities through the Humanities Research Program are regarded as key strategies for ensuring on-going relevance of the academic programs and for maintaining the strong success record of graduates.
